Dhaka, March 18 -- The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Ataullah Abu Ammar Jununi, the chief of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), an armed group from Myanmar.
He was produced before the Narayanganj district court on Tuesday afternoon along with five associates in connection with two cases related to illegal entry into Bangladesh and terrorist activities.
The arrestees were produced in the court of Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Moinuddin Kadir and the judge granted a 10-day remand for each of them, said court police inspector Kaiyum Khan.
After the hearing, the court granted 10 days to interrogate each of the arrestees in two cases combined, five days per case, Kaiyum said.
