Dhaka, Nov. 16 -- A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants against actress Mehazabien Chowdhury and her brother Alisan Chowdhury on charges of "embezzlement of Tk 2.7 million and death threats" after luring in the plaintiff with promises of making him a business partner.

Judge Afroza Tania of Dhaka Executive Magistrate's Court-3 issued an arrest warrant against them on Nov 10.

Amirul Islam, the plaintiff in the case, confirmed the arrest warrant on Sunday.

Amirul said the accused in the case were supposed to appear in court on Nov 10, but did not show up, prompting the court to issued arrest warrants against them.

The court has set Dec 18 as the date for filing the execution report regarding the arrests.
