Dhaka, March 9 -- An organiser of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement has been arrested in a joint operation at the Narayanganj 300-bed Hospital.
Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station chief Nasir Ahmed said the drive was conducted around 11am on Sunday.
The arrested Zidan Hossain, organiser of the Narayanganj Sadar Thana Anti-discrimination Student Movement, had four yaba tablets and a knife seized from his bag.
A hospital volunteer named Iqbal Hossain was also arrested.
The Narayanganj district branch of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement permanently expelled Zidan from the organisation.
District Committee Convenor Nirab Raihan and Member Secretary Jabed Alam gave this information in a press release at noon.
