Dhaka, May 30 -- A group of demonstrators have reportedly ransacked Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader's house in Rangpur and torched a motorcycle outside.

The party's city unit General Secretary SM Yasir has blamed the attack on members of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizen Party (NCP), calling it a "disgraceful" act.

Leaders of the Anti-discrimination Movement have rejected the claims and, in turn, accused Jatiya Party activists of attacking their peaceful protest.

The attack occurred after 8:30pm on Thursday at Quader's Sky View residence in Rangpur's Senpara.

Jatiya Party leaders allege that the demonstrators stormed the house after marching from the city's Press Club.
