Dhaka, Oct. 1 -- Villagers in Narayanganj's Araihazar Upazila have "beaten another man to death", after previously killing a suspect in eight cases and a Union Council member.

The man was lynched after being accused of taking part in a robbery attempt, police said.

According to Tarek Al Mehedi, additional superintendent of police, the incident occurred in Bishnandi Union in the early hours of Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as 32-year-old Nabi Hossain, was the son of Laikka Hossain from Uchitpura Union. Police said there was no record of criminal activity against him.

Citing local accounts, Mehedi said several men attempted to rob a house in the village, attacking and injuring at least four people inside.
