Dhaka, Dec. 15 -- Journalist Anis Alamgir, actress Meher Afroz Shaon, and four others have been named in a case filed at Uttara West Police Station, accusing them of conspiring to destabilise the state and inciting a banned organisation. Anis has also been shown arrested in the case.

Shahriar Ali, deputy police commissioner of the Uttara Division, said: "A case has been filed. Anis Alamgir has been shown arrested.

"A case has been filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act," said Kazi Mohammad Rafiq Ahmed, chief of Uttara West Police Station. "Anis Alamgir has been shown arrested in the case. The investigation against the others is ongoing."
