Dhaka, Oct. 28 -- As many as 13 Ansar personnel will be deployed at each polling station in the upcoming parliamentary elections, says Home Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

For the first time, an armed Ansar will be deployed to ensure the security of the presiding officer, he said.

The home advisor made the statement after inaugurating the Ansar and Village Defence Trust's transport service at the Ansar Headquarters in Khilgaon on Tuesday.

The advisor said, "Ansar personnel will be most commonly deployed during the election. There will be 13 Ansar personnel in each centre. Out of the 13, three will have weapons, while the remaining 10 will not have weapons. The team will include six male and four female Ansar members.
