Dhaka, March 10 -- M Aminul Islam, who was assigned to the Ministry of Education with equivalent status to a state minister, has resigned from his post as special assistant to Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus.
He informed the media that he had sent his resignation letter to the Chief Advisor's Office on Monday.
Regarding his resignation, the Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said: "I know that he submitted his resignation. But I do not know why he resigned."
An official at the Chief Advisor's Office said that the government had wanted him to resign.
The interim government led by Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, came to power on Aug 8 after a student-led mass movement ousted the Awami League government on Aug 5.
