Dhaka, Dec. 4 -- The Advisory Council has greenlighted the draft Police Commission Ordinance, 2025, despite objections.

It is one of two laws the interim government has been accused of rushing through just before the general election.

The other ordinance, concerning foreign funding for NGOs, received approval during the council meeting on Nov 29.

On that day, the Police Commission draft was also discussed, but the council decided not to approve it immediately, instructing that it be presented in a more detailed and revised form at the next meeting.

The meeting took place at the office of the Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus in Tejgaon on Thursday, with him presiding.
