Dhaka, Jan. 19 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to prosecute Jatiya Party leaders Mashiur Rahman Ranga and Panir Uddin Ahamed on charges of "bribery" and "money laundering".
ACC Director General Md Akhtar Hossain on Monday informed journalists about the decision to file the case.
The case will be filed against the duo over allegations of bribery amounting to Tk 17 million. Ranga allegedly took the bribe from Panir to facilitate his participation in the 2018 parliamentary polls.
Mashiur is the former general secretary and Presidium member of the Jatiya Party. He also served as the rural development and cooperatives state minister.
Panir was elected as a member of parliament from the Kurigram-2 constituency.
