Dhaka, Jan. 23 -- National Citizen Party (NCP) spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has accused a "political party" in Bangladesh of taking on "the role of Awami League".
He made these remarks while attending an election rally of the candidate for the Dhaka-10 constituency of Jamaat-e-Islami on Friday.
Referring to the BNP, he said: "A party in post-revolutionary Bangladesh has presented itself before the nation in the role of Awami League.
"The elements of the oppression that we saw in post-revolutionary Bangladesh in the past 17 years are visible in a party."
Asif said, "The nation is fed up with the corruption, terrorism, and extortion of their leaders and activists.
