Dhaka, Sept. 30 -- Nine witnesses have testified in two corruption cases filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy over alleged irregularities in the allocation of plots in the Purbachal New Town Project.
The testimonies were recorded on Tuesday by Dhaka's Fifth Special Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun.
No evidence was taken, however, in the related case against Hasina's daughter Saima Wazed Putul.
The witnesses included officials from the judiciary, land registry, Dhaka South City Corporation, and the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
ACC prosecutor Sultan Mahmud said four testified in Hasina's case and five in Joy's case.
