Dhaka, Jan. 14 -- Two more people have died of alcohol poisoning after drinking "bootleg alcohol" in Rangpur, leading to a tally of six deaths from alcohol over three days in the district. Two others have been hospitalised.

The bodies were recovered around midnight on Tuesday and sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for post-mortem, said Azad Rahman, chief of Hazirhat Police Station of the Rangpur Metropolitan Police.

The two most recent deaths have been identified as Abdul Malek, who hails from Badarganj Upazila, and Rashedul Islam, who hails from Rangpur's Sadar Upazila.
