Dhaka, Feb. 3 -- A 13-year-old girl abducted from Dhaka's Dakshinkhan was gang-raped and killed by five attackers, police say after recovering her decomposed body from Hatirjheel.

The girl, an eighth grader, went missing after she left home on Jan 16. Police recovered her body from Hatirjheel on Sunday, 17 days after she went missing.

Meanwhile, on Jan 30, police arrested Robin Hossain, 32, and Rabbi Mridha, 26, from Gazipur's Sreepur and questioned them after they were remanded. The interrogation led to the mystery being solved.

Following information provided by the arrestees, police recovered the body, said Dhaka Metropolitan North Deputy Commissioner Raunak Jahan.
