Dhaka, Feb. 3 -- Police have arrested 42 leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliate organisations in Chattogram over cases tied to the Anti-discrimination Student Movement and the anti-terror law.
The arrests were made in raids conducted from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon, the Chattogram Metropolitan Police said in a media statement.
Among the detainees are leaders of Chattogram Metropolitan Chhatra League, as well as Awami League, Jubo League, and Hawkers' League activists at the Upazila and ward levels, according to police.
Police said they are accused in various cases linked to incidents stemming from the Anti-discrimination Student Movement and cases filed under the anti-terror law.
