Dhaka, Feb. 10 -- A total of 343 suspects have been arrested across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours as part of the ongoing nationwide crackdown, Operation Devil Hunt.

Law-enforcing agencies also detained 1,178 others during the same period, based on separate cases and warrants, the Police Headquarters said in a statement on Monday evening.

Assistant Inspector General of Police Enamul Haque Sagar said the total number of arrests under the operation has now reached 1,521 since the crackdown began.

The authorities also seized a foreign-made pistol, two magazines, 11 rounds of bullets, six shotgun cartridges, three knives, three swords, an axe, 10 crude bombs, eight sticks, four iron rods, and four machetes during the past 24 hours, the st...
