Dhaka, April 3 -- At least 25 people have been injured in separate clashes in Faridpur Sadar and Boalmari Upazilas over a game of cricket and harvesting of onion.

Five individuals were admitted to hospital with severe injuries following the incidents on Wednesday.

The first confrontation erupted in Char Chandpur village of Sadar Upazila during a cricket match organised around Eid.

What began as a game escalated into a heated altercation between two men-Badsha, son of Nazrul Bepari, and Nazmul, son of Akidul Sheikh-police said.

While locals initially mediated the dispute, tensions reignited later in the day, leading to a broader conflict between their families.
