Dhaka, Feb. 14 -- At least 20 people have suffered injuries in a clash between rival groups in the Saltha and Boalmari Upazilas of Faridpur.

The unrest, which broke out on Saturday, reportedly involved arson and the widespread vandalism of homes.

Army personnel and police were deployed to the scene to restore order.

Law enforcement has since detained several individuals in connection with the violence.

According to Faridpur Assistant Police Superintendent (Saltha-Nagarkanda Circle) Mahmudul Hasan, the clash occurred between 10am and 11am near Moyendia Bazar, located on the border of the two Upazilas.
