Dhaka, Jan. 5 -- Jahangirnagar University has suspended a student for a year after foreign liquor was recovered from a room in the Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall.

An office order on Monday confirmed that 20 bottles of liquor were seized from Room No. 723 during a university administration raid on Sunday. 11 bottles were found in a locker on a table, and nine more were discovered under the bed.

Following a review of the investigation report, the university decided to suspend Fazle Azwad Sarkar. The administration said the disciplinary action was taken under Section (1)(c) of Jahangirnagar University's Disciplinary Ordinance for Students-2018.
