Dhaka, July 10 -- Two students have died after slipping into a mountain stream while hiking in the hills of Mirsharai, Chattogram.

Three others from their group were found a day later, lost in the hills.

In the same Upazila, eight college students from Dhaka were rescued from the Ruposhi waterfall by police and Fire Service after becoming stranded in the flash floods caused by heavy rains.

The three lost hikers were rescued from the Melkhum trail on Wednesday, where Fire Service found the bodies of the two other travellers.

The dead have been identified by the single names Galib and Hridoy, who were both students of Feni Polytechnic Institute.
