Dhaka, May 8 -- At least two people have died after they drank alcoholic "spirits" after buying them from a homeopathic medicine shop in Siragjanj's Belkuchi Upazila.

Another person has been admitted to the hospital over the incident.

One of the victims died while undergoing treatment at the Sirajganj Sadar Hospital on Wednesday evening and the other died while he was being taken to Shahid Mansur Ali Medical College and Hospital, said Inspector (Investigation) Abdul Barik of Belkuchi Police Station.

The dead were identified as butcher Abul Kalam, 45, from Doulatpur's Bashtala and rickshaw-van driver Shah Alam, 43, from Doulatpur's Moti Market.
