Dhaka, May 2 -- Two Bangladeshi farmers have been detained by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) from Birol Upazila along the Dinajpur border, according to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
In response, locals have reportedly detained two Indian nationals.
The incident occurred between 10 and 11am on Friday, near sub-pillar 11 of the 321 main border pillar in Birol's Dharmajain, said Lieutenant Colonel Ahsanul Islam, captain of Dinajpur-42 BGB Battalion.
He stated that efforts are currently underway to bring the two farmers back through a formal flag meeting.
The Bangladeshis taken by BSF have been identified as Masud, 22, and Enamul, 46, both residents of Birol.
