Dhaka, Sept. 30 -- A total of 19 people have been arrested in 15 cases filed over Durga Puja-related incidents across Bangladesh, according to Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam.

The police chief said 49 incidents were reported by Monday night during the festival.

Speaking at a press conference at Police Headquarters on Tuesday, Baharul outlined the nature of the disturbances. These included:

* Misleading posts on Facebook

* Water thrown inside a temple

* A Jamaat-e-Islami activist allegedly forcing a halt to music

* Incidents of extortion

* Attacks on Ansar personnel

* Vandalism of idols
