Dhaka, June 29 -- The government has temporarily suspended 13 senior police officers, including three superintendents of police (SPs), over allegations of absconding.
Among those suspended are eight additional superintendents of police and two assistant superintendents of police (ASPs).
Another assistant police commissioner has been suspended following a dowry case filed by his wife.
On Sunday, the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued 14 separate circulars announcing the suspensions.
The officers suspended over absconding allegations are:
Md Shahjahan, former SP of Rangpur. Shahjahan has reportedly been absent from his post at the Chattogram Range DIG Office since Jan 16.
