Dhaka, March 4 -- As many as 124 officers holding the ranks of additional superintendent of police and assistant superintendent of police, or ASP, have been transferred in a single day in a major reshuffle,

Among them, 16 additional SPs have been reassigned, while 108 recently promoted ASPs have been given new postings as additional SPs.

Police Headquarters issued orders on Monday through two separate notifications.

As per the directives, the transferred officers must hand over their duties by Mar 19.

Failure to do so will result in them being considered on "stand release" from the following day.

Since the change in government, there has been a series of major reshuffles within the force.
