Dhaka, Feb. 6 -- The public administration ministry has appointed 1,490 candidates to different cadres under the 44th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS).
This recruitment comes seven months after the Public Service Commission (PSC) initially shared its recommendations.
The ministry's new recruitment branch issued the order on Thursday, made official on Friday.
Among those joining the civil service, 244 officials are entering the administration cadre, 48 have been posted to the police, and nine are joining the foreign service.
Also, 11 officials have joined the tax cadre and 29 are headed to the audit and accounts department, alongside several others in different technical and general roles.
