Dhaka, Dec. 23 -- Tensions have escalated at Rajshahi University following a public spat between the university unit of Chhatra Dal and RUCSU General Secretary Salahuddin Ammar.

The exchange of statements began on Monday afternoon after Chhatra Dal took out a celebratory procession on campus to mark the impending return of BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to the country.

At a rally following the march, Chhatra Dal's Rajshahi University Senior Joint Vice-president Shakilur Rahman Sohag referred to a recent incident involving the alleged harassment of a teacher.

He said, "Rajshahi University Chhatra Dal can remove a 'footage-seeker' like Salahuddin Ammar from the campus within 30 minutes."
