Bangladesh, Sept. 15 -- A Dhaka court has placed a US citizen of Bangladeshi origin on a two-day remand in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act after he was detained while allegedly moving "suspiciously" in a car on Minto Road.

Metropolitan Magistrate Atikur Rahman issued the order on Monday in response to the police's petition for 10 days to grill 55-year-old Enayet Karim Chowdhury in custody, according to prosecution police Sub-Inspector Jinnat Ali.

Earlier, Metropolitan Magistrate Saifuzzaman granted police permission to place him under arrest in the anti-terrorism case.
