Dhaka, July 20 -- Home Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said the law and order situation in Bangladesh has "significantly improved" in the last few months.
Speaking at a briefing after a meeting of the law and order core committee on Sunday, he said: "If the current trend continues, there should be no obstacles to holding the upcoming general election."
The meeting saw participation from district commissioners, RAB, and Army personnel.
Jahangir said the law-enforcing agencies' assessments looked into their operations, and compared the current situation with past years.
"Based on their feedback, it's clear that the situation has improved considerably compared with the past," he said.
