Bangladesh, Aug. 25 -- Chief Returning Officer Prof Mohammad Jasim Uddin has played down concerns over the atmosphere surrounding the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and Hall Union elections, framing the issue as a routine divergence of opinion within the university community.

Despite murmurs of discontent among certain university stakeholders, the message from him is clear: the process will go on, and as of now, there is no official reconsideration of the polling date.

"We haven't found anything negative," he told reporters on Sunday. "When there's a meeting, does everyone agree on everything? Not at all. Things follow the majority's direction. There's no need to worry about this."
