Dhaka, Dec. 23 -- Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin has directed field administration officials, including returning officers, to carry out their duties strictly in line with the law and election regulations ahead of the 13th parliamentary elections and referendum.

He urged officials to perform their duties impartially and ensure the law is applied equally to all during this "critical time" for the country.

The EC is holding a meeting on Tuesday with divisional commissioners, police commissioners, deputy inspectors general of police (DIGs), deputy commissioners, superintendents of police and regional election officers at the Election Bhaban in Agargaon.
