Dhaka, Feb. 20 -- The government will introduce the "Family Card" programme before Eid ul-Fitr, according to Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu.

The distribution will begin as a pilot project in eight Upazilas, prioritising the poorest households, he said on Friday afternoon in Lalmonirhat Sadar.

The programme will gradually expand to cover the most marginalised and impoverished families across the country, the minister added.

According to him, the government is committed to fulfilling its election manifesto, explaining that a 180-day "special package" has been adopted and four cabinet meetings have already reviewed its implementation progress.
