Bangladesh, Sept. 2 -- A worker has been killed and at least 50 other people have been injured after a clash with law enforcers during a protest against the closure of a factory at the Uttara Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Nilphamari.
The clash sparked during a demonstration by workers at the Evergreen Factory in the EPZ area at 8am on Tuesday.
The dead man has been identified as Habibur Rahman, a worker at a knitting factory called Ecu International. He hailed from Sangalshi Union in Nilphamari's Sadar Upazila.
Five others critically injured in the violence have been admitted to Nilphamari General Hospital.
