United Kingdom, Aug. 29 -- Sony is reportedly working on a new Nintendo Switch-style handheld console that could launch alongside the PlayStation 6.

According to leaker Moore's Law is Dead, the upcoming device will function as both a portable and home console, allowing players to dock it for TV play while also supporting on-the-go gaming.

It has been claimed that the system could cost around $400 and may be more powerful than Microsoft's Asus ROG Ally X, a handheld gaming PC.

The rumours suggest Sony is positioning the supposed device as a full-fledged PS6 companion rather than a streaming-only device like the PlayStation Portal.
