United Kingdom, March 25 -- Samsung Electronics co-CEO Han Jong Hee has died.

The 63-year-old boss - who was appointed to the position at the March 19 annual shareholders meeting - passed away in hospital while being treated following a heart attack on Tuesday (25.03.25).

Confirming the news on March 25, a Samsung spokesperson said: "Our deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time."

He is survived by his wife and children.

A successor to join the newly-appointed boss Jun Young-hyun is yet to be decided.

Han - who joined the firm in 1988 and became its chief executive officer in 2022 - also headed the brand's digital appliances division, which includes its mobile phones and home appliances.
