United Kingdom, July 24 -- Samsung is planning a big upgrade for its Now Bar feature, with support for nearly double the number of apps expected in the next major software update.

The South Korean company is said to be expanding app compatibility from 20 to around 35 apps with the launch of One UI 8.

The Now Bar, which debuted earlier this year, acts as a persistent dock that allows Galaxy device users to quickly access and switch between apps without leaving their current screen.

While the feature - similar in functionality to Apple's Live Activities on iPhone - has been praised for its convenience, users have requested greater flexibility and more third-party app integration.
