United Kingdom, July 11 -- Capcom has officially unveiled its new mobile game Resident Evil: Survival Unit.

The publisher has teamed up with developer Aniplex for the iOS and Android title, which is being promised as a fresh spin on the long-running survival horror franchise.

Described as a "global multiplayer experience", Resident Evil: Survival Unit brings together familiar characters, including Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and even the enigmatic merchant from Resident Evil 4 in a new storyline set in a parallel universe.

Unlike traditional Resident Evil titles, Survival Unit focuses on cooperative gameplay with players from around the world teaming up to battle hordes of infected enemies.
