United Kingdom, Oct. 17 -- Nintendo is reportedly increasing production of the Switch 2.

According to Bloomberg, the Japanese gaming giant has asked suppliers to manufacture as many as 25 million units by March 2026.

If achieved, this would mark one of the strongest first-year performances for a gaming console in the industry's history.

Nintendo began assembling the Switch 2 in late 2024 and is now said to be scaling up manufacturing to meet overwhelming demand heading into the holidays.

Analysts had predicted first-year sales of around 17.6 million units, but insiders say Nintendo expects to sell roughly 20 million consoles this fiscal year alone, with additional stock carrying into the next.
