United Kingdom, March 31 -- Microsoft has been called "not very sexy" upon its 50th anniversary.
The tech giant has become a staple of the technology,arlet since Bill Gates launched it in 1975 and the only other company on the market with a higher cap is Apple.
eMarketer analyst Jeremy Goldman said: "From a storytelling standpoint, they've been a boring company and a boring stock.
"It's funny because they have a $2.9 trillion market cap, and that is huge.
"It's not a very sexy infrastructure, but it's a very valuable one.
The company itself recently reflected on the milestone anniversary, where bosses promised that "reinvention" will play a big part in the future of the corporation.
