United Kingdom, July 21 -- Google has quietly removed in-app media playback controls from Google Maps on Android.
As reported by 9to5Google, the feature - which allowed users to manage music or podcasts directly within the navigation interface - was previously accessible by linking a preferred media app, such as Spotify, YouTube Music, or Apple Music, within Google Maps' settings.
Once connected, users could control playback without leaving the navigation screen.
However, the option to add or manage a media app has now disappeared from the settings menu, and existing playback buttons have been removed.
