United Kingdom, May 8 -- Google has announced a dedicated Gemini app for iPad.

The artificial intelligence (AI) model has been available on iPhones since November 2024, though Google has now confirmed it has made a dedicated iPadOS app for Apple's tablets that is a "seamless and optimised experience" that differs from the iOS version.

Google spokesperson Elijah Lawal told The Verge the app can be used in the split view on iPad to allow for multitasking, and will include features such as Gemini Live, Deep Research and Audio Overview.

For Gemini Live, users will be able to have "natural, free-flowing conversations in over 45 languages", while Deep Research can "quickly generate reports and gather information, saving significant time".
