United Kingdom, May 24 -- Flying taxis could be zooming in the skies above Britain in 2028.

Transport Minister and the Labour Member of Parliament (MP) for Wythenshawe and Sale East in Manchester, Mike Kane, made the claim in the House of Commons inside the Houses of Parliament in London, on May 15.

He said the Government - led by the Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer - wants the UK to "maximise" benefits of future flight technologies.

He added that a "joint programme" between "industry", "Government" and the "CAA [Civil Aviation Authority]" will "allow drone capability by 2027 and flying taxis by 2028 in the UK skies".
