United Kingdom, Dec. 30 -- Apple is seeking to overturn a UK court ruling.

The tech giant has announced that it's set to contest a £1.5 billion court ruling on behalf of millions of UK customers, after the company was accused of overcharging consumers for years through the App Store.

Dr Rachael Kent, an academic at King's College London who won the £1.5 billion case against Apple on behalf of UK consumers, said in a statement: "It's definitely a tipping point.

"People are pushing back against the harms from digital worlds, which they have to be living in and through every day and the financial implications of that."
