United Kingdom, Jan. 22 -- Apple is reportedly working on a Siri chatbot for iOS 27.
According to a report from Bloomberg, the project - said to be codenamed "Campos" - would replace the current version of Siri with a more natural, chatbot-style interface capable of sustained conversations.
The goal is to supposedly compete more directly with leading generative AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, and ChatGPT.
While the iPhone maker initially resisted building a dedicated chatbot, executives are said to have reconsidered as consumer expectations shifted.
Unlike standalone AI apps, Apple's chatbot is said to be deeply embedded into the operating system rather than offered as a separate download.
