United Kingdom, May 16 -- WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has been diagnosed with colon cancer.

The 73-year-old wrestling commentator has taken to social media to share the news of his cancer diagnosis with his followers, revealing that he will undergo surgery "in the next week or two".

Jim - who served as the WWE's main commentator throughout the company's Attitude Era in the late 90s and early 2000s - wrote on X: "Diagnosed this week with colon cancer.

"Surgery being scheduled in the next week or two.

"I appreciate your concern and support.

"[prayer emoji] (sic)"

Jim has worked for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since 2019, and the promotion company has expressed its support for the legendary commentator, who is also known as JR.
