United Kingdom, Feb. 20 -- Ashton Kutcher and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson have led tributes to the late Eric Dane.

The Grey's Anatomy star passed away on Thursday (19.02.26), at the age of 53, 10 months after he publicly shared his diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) - a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells and causes loss of muscle control.

Eric's family said in a statement to People: "With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS.
