United Kingdom, Jan. 16 -- Tom Brady has described his divorce from Gisele Bundchen as "a challenge".

The former NFL quarterback, 48, split from the supermodel in late 2022 after 13 years of marriage and he's now admitted the "personal issues" he was going through at the time affected his ability to play football after coming out of retirement for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 2022-2023 season.

Speaking to MLFootball, he explained: "My last season was tough. I was going through, I had a lot of, you know, a personal family issue.

"And it was a challenge, and it was very . it just took a lot out of me in terms of, you know, my ability to play."
