United Kingdom, Jan. 26 -- The Blind Side star Quinton Aaron is fighting for his life in hospital after contracting a "severe blood infection".

The 41-year-old actor - who starred opposite Sandra Bullock in the Oscar-winning 2009 movie - is believed to have been struck down by the infection after suffering a nasty fall at his home and remains on "life support" in hospital. His family are raising money to cover his medical via a GoFundMe page and they gave an update on his condition.

A message posted on the page reads: "Quinton is currently hospitalized and on life support due to a severe blood infection. This has been sudden, frightening, and overwhelming for his loved ones.
