United Kingdom, July 4 -- Sir Ringo Starr gave "extensive notes" to Sir Sam Mendes about his Beatles biopic.

The 59-year-old filmmaker is working on four separate movies about each member of the iconic band, and Ringo has revealed that he's been closely involved in the creative process, offering insights into his family life and his relationship with his first wife, Maureen.

Ringo told the New York Times newspaper: "He had a writer - very good writer, great reputation, and he wrote it great, but it had nothing to do with Maureen and I. That's not how we were. I'd say, 'We would never do that.'"

Ringo isn't sure whether Sam will be able to deliver on his promise of delivering all four biopics by 2028.
