United Kingdom, Jan. 9 -- Sarah Michelle Gellar stepped away from acting because she felt "directionless" after Robin Williams' death.

The Buffy The Vampire Slayer star played the actor's onscreen daughter in The Crazy Ones, which ran from 2013 until 2014, and the sitcom marked Williams' final role before he took his own life in 2014 at the age of 63 - and Gellar has now admitted the tragedy forced her to revaluate her life and career.

During an appearance on the Shut Up Evan podcast, the mother-of two explained: "I had children back to back. I started The Crazy Ones when my son was three months old. I was breastfeeding the entire time.
